Contour's Antimicrobial Products

Contour Heating are the only company to incorporate BioCote® antimicrobial protection into our LST and anti-ligature radiators and guards. This unique additive provides an effective and long-lasting solution to combatting a wide range of bacteria, including MRSA and E.coli

The antimicrobial efficacy of BioCote® products has been tested against a wide range of Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria as well as fungi. BioCote® has been proven to inhibit the growth of these organisms, thus improving the hygiene of protected surfaces.

The DeepClean range incorporates BioCote® antimicrobial protection, as standard into the paintwork of all the LST and antiligature radiator guards. BioCote® technology provides effective and permanent protection to the surface of the radiator guard, preventing the growth of microbes such as bacteria and fungi.

Biocote Is

Effective - The silver ions in BioCote® damage the cell wall, disrupting energy production and other cellular functions and prevent microbes from reproducing.

Proven - BioCote is a proven broad spectrum antimicrobial technology, effective against a wide range of bacteria and fungi.

Fast acting and long lasting - BioCote® treated surfaces show significant microbial reductions within just 15 minutes of exposure to living bacteria and up to 99.99% reduction in under 2 hours (see graph on opposite page). This performance will last for the expected lifetime of the product.

Efficiancy - The active agents in BioCote® have been used extensively in hospitals as excellent antimicrobials with low toxicity against non-target organisms. They do not function in the same way as antibiotics and there is no evidence to date to demonstrate that bacteria have become resistant to BioCote® as they have to some antibiotics.

  • Staphylococcus aureus (including MRSA)
  • Escherichia coli (E.coli)
  • Listeria monocytogenes

Products treated with BioCote® have been tested for the simulated life of the product / material with no significant reduction in the antimicrobial performance noted, therefore demonstrating antimicrobial efficacy for the life of the radiator guard.
