LST radiators have to be installed by a qualified plumber.
Each LST radiator should take around one hour to install and this is the recommended amount of time that you should allow per heater.
This timescale is based on the assumption that the old heating system has already been taken off and that the pipework for the LST radiator is already installed and is ready. If this is the case; the LST radiator can be hung and connected up to the system.
Allowing a full hour for each LST radiator ensures a concentrated installation that isn’t rushed. If the installation is done too quickly there is an increased risk of mistakes being made which could cause problems later on across the whole heating system.
To install an LST radiator, it needs to be hung so that the pipework can be brought up to it. This needs to be connected in and then checked thoroughly to ensure that it’s level.
Once the pipework has been connected, checked and confirmed as working properly, the radiator cover can be fitted onto the LST. Once this has taken place, the sealant can be applied.
If the LST radiator is designed to have an externally fitted TRV kit then this should be connected up after the radiator cover and sealant has been applied.
There are a number of different challenges that can occur while installing LST radiators that have to be overcome to ensure that the heating system is fully operational and performing to the expected standard.
