Heat pump systems operate between 35o ‑and 45o inputs, whereas traditional radiators are designed to work with gas boiler systems which operate at a 75o input. This means that a heat pump radiator of the same size as a traditional one, can’t generate the same levels of output. But it is significantly more efficient.

Another solution to maintaining high heat outputs whilst using a radiator that is connected to a heat pump is to use a fan-assisted model. The benefit of using a fan-assisted radiator is that the radiator you specify doesn’t need to be as big. Using a fan-assisted radiator, on average, produces 3x as much heat output as one without a fan. This means the combination of a heat pump and a fan-assisted radiator will roughly bring your radiator size back to what it would be using a traditional model. But it will heat the room using a lot less water; which is both energy efficient and economically friendly.
Installing a low surface temperature (LST) radiator, such as one from the Sovereign range, is particularly suitable in spaces occupied by members of the public. In such surroundings, a low surface temperature is necessary to safeguard effective heat output whilst providing safety to those using the space.
