What is BioCote®?
BioCote® is introduced at the manufacturing stage to offer protection against various microbes: bacteria and mould. Working alongside cleaning regimes and hand hygiene, it delivers the ultimate hygiene protection.
It’s a silver-based antimicrobial technology that lasts the lifespan of the product.
Our LST radiators are painted using a dry powder coating process, which includes BioCote® antimicrobial technology. During this, the paint will have sealed the LST radiator so it’s guarded against damage and corrosion.
How does BioCote® help hospitals?
Within hospitals, there’s no doubt for the importance to maintain a good standard of hygiene. BioCote® can reduce the presence of microbes such as MRSA and E. coli.
The technology makes our LST radiators easier to keep hygienically clean by actively working to reduce the number of microbes on the protected surface between the times it would normally be cleaned.
With antimicrobial additives, our BioCote® LST radiators provide optimal protection against bacteria and mould. The surface of the LST radiator are more hygienic and less likely to be a potential risk of cross contamination.
BioCote® conducted an experiment on a live ward, results found that BioCote® protected products were considerably less contaminated with a 96% reduction in bacteria.
BioCote® has been successful to show effectiveness against notable microbes, such as Salmonella and strain Munich.
BioCote® has been proven to reduce microbes on a protected surface by up to 99.99% in two hours, highlighting the significant hygiene improvement BioCote® can provide.
